WEAVING

The Guild has something for everyone. It caters for both the inexperienced and the experienced weaver. There are basic classes for beginners and courses for more advanced weavers, often run by overseas tutors.

Basic classes include weaving articles such as scarves, table mats, small hangings and cushions so that the weaver becomes thoroughly familiar with the loom, and is able to explore a number of different weave structures, using a variety of yarns.

More advanced classes allow you to learn specific skills such as rug, fabric and tapestry weaving, sewing with hand woven cloth and weave pattern drafting.

Monthly support and discussion groups are run by the tapestry weavers and the fabric weavers.

There are many weaving books available in the library and yarns for sale in the yarn room.
